I need a better camera

Well it's done. I finished the painting of Daevina. The photo of it looks like crap, as do most of the photos of my paintings in my portfolio because my digital camera is cheap like borscht.

Yeah, I'm thrilled.

I'm determined to feign enthusiasm for political purposes, but an hour into my fifth week here and I am bored and depressed. My grey cubicle surrounds me like an anaconda. My mind's eye is fixated on the unfinished painting on my easel and three countdown clocks are ticking in my head... 7 hours left to the day, 4 more days in the week, 5 more months in this contract.

Blah.

I just don't feel like going to Sanctuary tonight. I was planning to go, I even washed my club clothes and started getting ready. Now I've changed my mind. Trish won't be there. Mike's decided not to go. I can't get drunk because of work tomorrow and the annoying fact that I have limited funds. I think I'm better off to save what little I have for when Lorra is in town next week.

The walk home.

This is for Lorra because she liked the walk to work.

Do I want to go out?

I can't decide if I want to go out tonight. I was out last night until dawn with Trish and Kim and had a lot of fun so do I really want to go out again tonight? I didn't get much accomplished today except for going to the bank again to put an end to my ongoing problems (yet somehow I don't think they are over), had some munchies at the Vine Yard, went to the grocery store, then came back here and puttered at things like fixing my shoe.

Stalkers Take Note: my commute

My commute is the best part of my working day. This almost makes up for sitting a cubicle for 40 hours a week:

Of all the days to forget my LJ client

I'm even more bored than usual at the moment. I'm running these brutally

slow routines to update the corporate directory. Apparently this a regular

thing that has to be done every pay period. This is so lame. I have a

nibble for a much more interesting job in Toronto and have my first

telephone interview a week Monday. It's for a digital post-production

company, which would be a little more interesting than a bank. I am hating

banks in general lately. A few minutes ago I ran across the street to cash

Now this is just funny

I just looked at my banking and, no surprise, it's still FUBAR'd. The "replacement" cheque for the that was dated May 15th but cashed on May 4th had bounced because the mistakenly processed post-dated cheque has not been returned yet, now twenty days later. So it's going to be off to the bank again on Saturday to have this latest NSF fee reversed.

I'm kind of looking forward to screaming at the student loan people who have inevitably called about this latest bounced cheque. This one is completely their fault. Bastards one and all.

This is your brain

My brain is fried. I didn't get enough sleep last night (my fault) and now I can't concentrate and everything is bugging me. I'm looking at a bunch of numbers trying to figure out why totals on some sales reports don't match and I don't give a shit about it. This is way, way too dry. My enthusiasm for this job is a low point just now. I like this city, but I'm not sure spending eight hours a day in this pen cubicle is worth it. Things are going absolutely nowhere with Ivana and I have no prospects.

Nice walk

My walk to work was particularly pleasant this morning. There was a wonderful smelling briny breeze blowing across the Granville bridge. If I hadn't left a bit late this morning I would have hung around at the apex of the bridge just to breathe it in for a while. Then, as I reverse negotiated a shortcut I reconnoitered yesterday's walk home I discovered an absolutely stunning vista.
