Another tiny murder

Well, the Royal reversed the NSF charge and will be returning the money from the post-dated cheque and mailing me the cheque as well. So the bank side of it is sorted out. It only actually took 15 minutes in the branch to get it all sorted out, but with waiting for the bank to open in the first place and walking to work because of the transit strike I ended up being two hours late for work. That's two hours I'm never going to get back. If you listen carefully you can hear the sound of tiny knives being thrust into my flesh.

RRRRAAAAGHHHHH!!!!

I am soooooooo annoyed. I went to put a little money in the bank today after work and was very surprised to find an amount that didn't jive at all with what should have been in there (nothing). This concerned me, so I took a look at my online banking.

Yawn

Just waiting for a process to finish in the background. I often wonder how much of my life has been spent waiting for blue lines to crawl across my computer screen. But what the hell, I'm getting paid for it. The idea of getting paid on a regular basis started to sink in last night at the club. Not only do I have my rent and bills sorted out for this month, but I have the next six month, (and longer if I take the full-time job) lined up. I've been mentally shopping since the idea started to gel.

Caffeine!

There is not enough coffee for Monday mornings.

I don't like Mondays

This morning was my first Monday morning in years. It wasn't so bad. I had planned to walk in to work thinking that it would go a long way toward waking me up and getting started. Well, it didn't happen. When the brutal reality of the morning presented itself I found that a little extra sleep was more important so I ended up driving in. I think I will make that part of my routine. I drive on Mondays so that I getting to bed a bit late because of Sanctuary doesn't get in the way. It's all about priorities.

Comic Backlog

OK, I have be lax in keeping up with sharing my comic archive so here is the backlog:

May 1 (Me at work?)

May 2 (Old days on the 'net)

May 3,4,5,6 (scanned together, more 'net nostalgia)

Stupid project

Ungh. I worked on this one last frigging project I have today. I don't want to do it anymore. If it wasn't for this obligation I could have enjoyed the day, but noooooo.... I'm here working. This must stop. If I must do this eight-hours-a-day thing downtown I want my off time to be off time. I want to paint and draw pictures and go to the pub. I hate transitions. I'm not doing this next weekend. This project gets finished this weekend and that's that!

Ugh

Must sleep. There is work to get out of the way tomorrow so I can get on with the business of enjoying the pathetic scraps of the day that are left to me after my time in cubicle purgatory. Did I mention that I got my little magnetic sign with my name on to stick outside my cubicle today? When my co-worker handed it to me I said, "I'm a somebody now!" and she didn't get it.

I must remind myself:

Ich bin ein Zellefallhammer.

(I am a cubicle monkey.)

OK, so I made an entry at work and forgot to bring the disk home. We had a meeting at the end of the day and it ran over so I bailed out as quickly as possible, especially since the transit strike escalation made a mess of downtown traffic. I had to drive this morning. I had planned to walk but forgot to set my alarm last night so drove at the last minute.

Regular Hours

Nice bloody morning. This whole "regular hours" thing is going to be an adjustment. I feel like I have jet-lag. I forgot to turn on my alarm for the second time this week. The first time was my first day. By sheer fluke I managed to wake up on time that day, but no such luck today. I rolled over and saw to my horror that it was 7:45. As it turns out my boss rolled in an hour and half late and one of my co-workers isn't even here yet thanks to the escalation of the transit strike.
