So yet another job posting in Melbourne today. So far I haven't seen a blessed thing in Vancouver short of some opportunities I'm carving out for myself. Toronto isn't out of the running yet, but there certainly doesn't seem to be as much for me there as there was three years ago. I'm seeing lots of stuff in New York, but the immigration is an impediment.

First the good news, Siobhan has signed up on the Gothic BC forum to provide assistance for the bid. She's in charge of managing the bids this time around so she has to be non-partisan, but she's already provided invaluable information. We should have a good handle on venues by the end of the week and I can then move ahead with the official hotel. Brigitta and Minori are on board for the fashion show. I don't want to go into too many details since the competition is going to be tough, but things are looking like we are going to have one monsterously good bid in place in time for the vote.

You scored as The Artiste. You like cafés you can't afford and clothes you don't wash. You love to "epater la bourgouisie" You'll show everyone someday- your parents, the academy, that whore who turned you down on the street... Now, if only you could afford socks.

Looking down from a landmark building. See if you can guess the city before following the cut. The picture under the cut is looking up from the opposing angle this one is looking down from, from the position of the crosswalk you can see at the top edge of the frame at the centre.

The more I look into it, the more I am liking Melbourne. It looks a
lot like Vancouver, only a bit bigger and with a little less of an identity crisis. There seem to be a lot of cool old apartments downtown and the rents are a little cheaper than Vancouver. It's striking me as the bastard child of Vancouver and New York. Obviously that appeals to me.
