No Fun Now = Much Fun Later

« previous next »No poker for me tonight. I've got work to do tonight that is going to help pay our way to NYC. I'm looking forward to the day when I can do a little more relaxing in the evenings, but it is already better than it was. At least now the extra work isn't for nothing. I can't believe that I'm still digging myself out of the hole I got into last year. I have months of accounting to catch up on for tax time, work that has piled up, and yet another move to get through. But unlike this time last year there will be a refund at the end of the tax ordeal instead of a bill, the work is going into spending time in an amazing place with an
amazing person and not $4/lb organic asparagus, and the move is to an even more brilliant downtown Edwardian apartment than my current one and not a soul-sucking box in the suburbs. Nothing about what I have ahead of me is a compromise, everything is another step toward my dreams - all with
someone who is walking in the same direction beside me.
Last time I missed the small print ("Actual contents may vary. Product not as advertised."). This time I got a heluva good deal. In the Antiques Roadshow of relationships, I'm the guy with the 18th century porcelain doll that some schmuck threw out that turns out to be worth a million dollars.
