Photography, History and Whatever Else Strikes my Fancy.
I've been weirdly enjoying watching the @gothic.bc picture of the day struggle more and more to find images that haven't already been posted. I programmed it to start with the current month and day and look for pictures taken on that day (any year) and if there are none that haven't been used before it will expand the search one day at a time until it finds some and then randomly pick from that set. Currently it is stretching a full month forward and back. When it eventually gets to having to stretch six weeks in either direction (because "42") without finding anything it will randomly free up a thousand pictures that have already been used. If it still has to stretch 42 days, it'll free up a thousand more again and again until there is something within 42 days of the current date. It's never been this close to hitting that threshold before.
