« previous next »#dailycolonist1914 - News out of Victoria, British Columbia, 100 years ago today.
A lousy scan today. No big developments in the war that I could see, anyway, but a couple of interesting tidbits nonetheless:
- Man voted out of the Vancouver Board of Trade 198-2 for being liking the United States better than Canada [shame we cant kick Harper out of Ottawa for this same attitude.]
- Utterly bizarre ad trying to sell Budwieser to Canadians by praising Hungarians, who happen to the the enemy at the moment. This is even weirder than the sad attempt to connect Budwieser with the British naval hero Lord Nelson a few weeks ago.
