Back when I was living in Gastown I used to see all sorts of odd animals walking along the railroad tracks. I found out then that the Grandview cut provides a corridor for wildlife travelling between Burnaby Lake Park and Stanley Park. Late one night I saw an animal I didn't recognize. It had the general shape of a rodent but was much too big to be a rat or a muskrat, it was big enough to be a small bear, but not bear shaped. At the time I considered it might be a wolverine but dismissed it since I didn't think we had wolverines here. Today I found out otherwise. And because wolverines have large territories it is reasonably likely that the wolverine I saw was the same one as in
this article.
