I don't know if this is a joke or not

« previous next »I never bother unsubscribing from most of the job boards I signed up on when I was looking for work a couple years ago, after all, it never hurts to know what's out there. Anyway, a posting for a Systems Administrator came in and this was written in the "Working Conditions" section:
- On-call availability.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
- Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings.
- Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
I shudder to think that someone may have felt it seriously necessary to point out that a Systems Administrator should be able to sit for long periods of time, operate a keyboard and mouse, crawl under desks and lift computers. It can't be serious. But then again one of the other job requirements was an MCSE.
