An amusing day

« previous next »
It started with the wind - I swear there is nothing like a good storm to get me in a good mood. Work just flew by today. I finally got something to really sink my teeth into, which is great. Today was payday and I was feeling more than a little guilty about how long it has taken me to get up to speed and start into something useful. There were some moments of frustration as my temporary computer (the office "floater" laptop) crashed repeatedly but I consoled myself with the knowledge that I get my "real" computer Monday anyway.

I walked home from work and further enjoyed the cold and the wind. I'm a freak that way. With the wind chill it was about -5 °C (that's 15 °F for my American friends) which to me was perfect weather to walk the 3.25 km (2 mi) or so from work. It would have been better if I had my toque with me, though. My ears were a bit sore by the end.

My plans for the evening were snafued, but that has just left me with some time to relax and fiddle with some things that I've let sit for a while. Once again van-goth has proved to be a nut magnet. Why is it that the fringe-left nutbars that are always vociferously clamouring about freedom and expression are the first ones to jump all over and vehemently suppress any argument against their position? *yawn* Remember folks, "Arguing on the Internet is like running in the Special Olympics. Even if you win you are still a retard."

I derived some amusement from reading the "I-need-an-aluminum-hat-so-the-aliens-won't-make-me-sodomize-my-cat" type lunatic ravings of the nutbar du jour before deciding it was in everyone's best interest to moderate his posts. The lunatic in question is an adherent to this lunatic's rantings. A note to the lunatic fringe: "Matrix" quotes and animated graphics anti-aliased for a different background colour do not enhance your credibility. At least take a lesson from the other end of the lunatic-fringe (Nazis, in this case) and steal a decent design... geez.
