I am choked!

I checked my bank account last night to see if my last two student loan cheques had cleared properly and discovered that the problem with the post-dated cheque that should not have been processed is still not resolved. They gave me the money back last Saturday and I thought everything was OK. But as of yesterday they turned around and took it back since now there is money in my account because I got paid. I've already issued yet another replacement cheque to the student loan people so I'm out $500 again. That's my food and entertainment for the next four weeks.


This is disturbing

I think that I must be good at my job or something. I was included in a meeting about a fairly serious problem the bank is having with a couple of their e-mail servers. Without meaning to I kind of took over the meeting (I warned them at my interview that I have a tendency to do that) and ended up heavily influencing the plan to resolve the issue. What's interesting about this is that the other two developers that have been there longer were not brought into the meeting. I was the most "junior" person in the meeting.


Jocks stink

The guy at the desk next to me is a jock. I took an instant disliking to him. He's loud and he rambles about cycling at length, eats smelly food at his desk and today, has been farting incessantly since lunch.

His only redeeming quality is his Guinness mouse pad (I have one, too, however mine is better).

It sounds more fun that way.

Someone posted on the van-goth about how he was frightened by Corp-goth and that he thought the very concept was an oxymoron. I guess I am an oxymoron, then. Welcome to the real world.
