[Gothic BC] 49, going on dead: episode 15

In this episode: I successfully make it out to the Musqueam Reserve and back, exploring the Southlands along the way, the cats help (Tharsis even helps with the voice-over), dashounds are encountered. Probably the last one of these for a while now that the rainy season is in full swing.

[Gothic BC] 49, going on dead: episode 14

In this episode: The second half of my ride downtown where I go around Stanley Park (I contemplated calling this something like 13b or 13½.) I talk about the realisation of why I hate my apartment building, my wedding anniversary, the anniversary of my mother's death, and offer no explanation for the the missing 18 minutes.

[Gothic BC] 49, going on dead: episode 13

In this episode: I take my bike downtown and ride from Granville & Pender to Dead Man's Island along the Seawall bike path to meet a friend, dodging dodgy tourists and special snowflakes the whole way. The ride continues in episode 14, where we circle the park.

[Gothic BC] 49, going on dead: episode 12

In this episode: My wife moves out and I try to deal with what that triggers. I learn the cycling-enthusiast-jargon pejorative for the people who dress like they are in a race, and learn about a the "Bike Snob NYC" blog ( http://bikesnobnyc.blogspot.com ). I get caught trespassing. I muse about my father's post-separation situation in terms of 7th C. Rome. I have a last-minute Classical epiphany.

[Gothic BC] 49, going on dead: episode 11

In this episode: I re-do my first ride to see how I am doing, with a side trip to another park. I realise just what it is about full-on douchebag cycling gear that annoys me. I skirt around some pretty major emotional distress. Life goes on. Cats help.

[Gothic BC] 49, going on dead: episode 10

In this episode: It's not what got out of Pandora's box that'll get you, it's what was left behind. That or Vancouver drivers. I also go into some detail about my 44 year old bicycle, with illustrations.

[Gothic BC] 49, going on dead: episode 9

In this episode: No so much stream-of-consciousness this time. I received deeply upsetting news that I have been expecting and dreading for months and had to let a week go by before I could talk about it without going off on an angry rant.

[Gothic BC] 49, going on dead: episode 8

In this episode: four rides in fast motion with a voice-over that really doesn't say much. I've been too busy at work to spend a whole bunch of time picking out clips from old movies for this one, but who doesn't like fast motion, right?

[Gothic BC] 49, going on dead: episode 7

In this episode: It's back to Fraser River Park. I'm in an angry mood when I start out, but the ride makes me feel better. That doesn't last. I consider that there is probably a connection between the crows and the 4,000 year old garbage heap. Therapy is getting me down. And I notice and fix a stupid typo in the end credits that I have been cutting-and-pasting since the first episode. Embrace imperfection. Move forward. Call me "asshole" one more time...

[Gothic BC] 49, going on dead: episode 6

In this episode: I replicate my first ride to see if it has gotten any easier, except it is a weekday and Kent is busier and scarier. The f&^%ing basket falls off again. I try pointing the camera down river as I cross the bridge. And I try doing the voice-over right after the ride so my so I can remember what I was thinking better.
