The Night the Lights Went Out on Georgia

Snow in Vancouver

Looks like someone hit a pole down on Pender. There are police down at the end of the block and a firetruck just went by. The power is out in our building, the old house next door, the other old apartment on Bute, and all the traffic signals on Georgia are out. As I've typing this several other sirens have gone by. I imagine there are plenty of accidents all along Georgia right now.

The traffic signals and streetlights along Bute north of Georgia are all out, too. People are driving through the intersection at Melville without so much as slowing down - idiots.

Sign of the Apocalypse?

You believe in crazy things like human rights and health care and not dying in the streets, and you end up securing these rights for yourself and others.  If it weren't for your weird affection for ice hockey, you'd be the perfect person.
